Ronny Deila: It will have to be something very very good to lure me out of here

Before their clash with Charleroi, Standard Liege head coach Ronny Deila was asked about recent rumours linking him with the upcoming vacancy at Club Brugge. As reported by Het Nieuwsblad, the former Celtic manager said ‘Whether the rumours about Club Brugge bother me? No not at all. It is a result of the good work we are doing here. If an opportunity does arise, it will have to be something very very good to lure me out of here. Standard is a great club and I see many great challenges here’.

This will be welcome news for Standard fans after reports emerged that the head coach was seeking assurances from the board about the future direction of the club. The side do look set to announce their first summer signing, with Everton youngster Isaac Price set to sign a four year deal with the club.

Deila is not the only one on the Club Brugge shortlist however, with former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær also appearing on the clubs managerial shortlist. Club Brugge are looking for their fifth manager since Phillipe Clement left to join Monaco back in January of 2021. Rik De Mil is currently in charge as a caretaker until the end of the season, having taken over from Scott Parker.
