Beşiktaş v Club Brugge Preview | Draw good enough for Club Brugge against winless Istanbul side

Club Brugge travel to Istanbul knowing that a point against Beşiktaş will be enough to secure their spot in the next round of the Europa Conference League. Even a defeat could still be enough for qualification, depending on the outcome of the other match in the group between Lugano and FK Bodø/Glimt. The latter are just three points behind Club Brugge, while Lugano are six points away. Should FK Bodø/Glimt win, Club will be through regardless of how they do in Turkey. The two sides would then battle it out for top spot in the final group match on the 14th of December.

At the weekend Club Brugge beat OH Leuven 1-0 away from home, although on reflection the score line should have been far more favourable for the struggling title chasers. Despite having title ambitions to start the season, the side sit in seventh place, already 12 points behind leaders Union St Gilloise.

Beşiktaş have had an incredibly poor Conference League Campaign. They have only picked up a single point, which came in matchday one against Club Brugge. They are six points off of Bodø/Glimt, meaning they would need to win both their games by big margins and hope the Norwegian side fail to pick up a single point. In the league the side are currently third in the table, nine points off the two sides above them.
