Ajax left it late to rescue their first leg tie against Norwegian side FK Bodø/Glimt in the Europa Conference League Round of 32. The away side were 2-0 up after 64 minutes, with striker Albert Grønbæk scoring twice to put the Scandanavian side in a commanding position. However, the game turned when second-half substitute Odin Lurås Bjørtuft was sent off just 15 minutes after coming on.
From the resulting penalty, Branco van den Boomen made it 2-1. With just 10 men, the away side could not keep Ajax out and Steven Berghuis brought the sides level deep into added time. Ajax will hope that this late salvo will give them a better chance next week of getting through a tie that many expected they would be able to, as they were expected to at least be ahead after the first leg. However, Bodø/Glimt have been strong at home in this years competition, only losing to Club Brugge and winning both of their other games.
For new signing Jordan Henderson, he has played three times for Ajax but is still awaiting his first win since leaving Saudi-Arabia. With Henderson in the squad, the team have drawn twice and lost once. He has played every minute of every game since making his debut against PSV Eindhoven.
