Borussia Dortmund make contact with Johan Bakayoko’s entourage as the German giants enter race to sign the PSV winger

According to Eindhovens Dagblad, Borussia Dortmund have approached Johan Bakayoko’s entourage over the possibility of a move this summer. The PSV winger is currently experiencing yet another exceptional season in Eindhoven, maintaining the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Dortmund are the latest side keen on signing the Belgian.

Johan Bakayoko has netted 11 goals and provided 14 assists in 43 appearances this season. The 20-year-old’s contributions have helped PSV reach top spot in the Eredivisie table and they’re currently nine-points clear, on course to be crowned champions for the first time since the 17/18 season. Paris Saint-Germain reportedly made moves for Bakayoko in January and last summer, but the player decided to stay put. Brentford were also in the race for the winger, previously offering around €40m for the player.

PSV’s technical director Earnest Stewart recently made it clear that there’s a good chance Johan Bakayoko will leave this summer. If Borussia Dortmund want to bring him to the Signal Iduna Park, they’ll most likely have to pay in excess of €40m.
