Swansea and a number of Championship clubs looking to sign former Spurs academy prospect on loan from Standard Liege

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Swansea and a host of Championship clubs are looking into signing 20-year-old Romaine Mundle from Standard Liege. The former Tottenham academy prospect only joined the Liege side in the summer, but so far has had to settle for playing in the sides second team, SL16. They currently play in the second tier of Belgian football known as the Challenger Pro League.

While he has managed five league appearances in the first team off the bench, for SL16 he has shown some quality. In four games so far he has scored two goals. After rejecting a contract from Spurs in the summer, Mundle committed to a contract with Standard until 2027. Yet the club are, from the outside at least, in a strange position. They have been put under a transfer embargo twice, recently sacked Carl Hoefkens as head coach and there are rumours that they have to sell in January to balance the books.

Standard are currently owned by 777, the group that were interested in acquiring Premier League side Everton.
