Cercle Brugge sign Belgian U21 international goalkeeper Maxime Delanghe

Cercle Brugge have announced the signing of Maxime Delanghe on a two year deal with an option for a third. The former PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper has joined from Belgian second tier side Lierse. 22-year-old Delanghe could be set to become the clubs number one next season, with Polish international Radoslaw Majecki likely to return to AS Monaco. The 23-year-old had an impressive season for the side.

Delanghe made 18 appearances for Lierse in the second tier last season. The side had a strong season, finishing in the top half to qualify for the promotion play-offs, despite having one of the smaller budgets in the league. Unfortunately they were unable to continue their promotion push, running out of steam as RWDM and Beveren took control of the top two places. It was RWDM who eventually won promotion.

Delanghe joins a Cercle Brugge side who finished sixth during the 2022/2023 season, having come second to Gent in play-off two.
