Trabzonspor submit offer for Standard Liege’s Romanian striker

According to Sacha Tavolieri, Trabzonspor have submitted an offer of around €1m to Standard Liege for 24-year-old Romanian striker Denis Dragus. The forward is currently on loan at fellow Turkish league club Gaziantep FK. According to Tavolieri, the forward has already agreed personal terms with Trabzonspor.

Dragus joined the side on loan in September and has played 26 times in the league, scoring 11 goals and providing one assist. His contract in Belgium runs until the summer of 2025, and while the club wanted around €3m recently, given that his contract is running down the club are willing to accept less. Furthermore, Standard are not exactly rolling in money at the moment and could do with getting funds in to provide some form of transfer budget for next season.

In just one season with Gaziantep, Dragus has already scored more goals than he has in 60 games for Standard. The striker has scored 12 in all competitions for his current side, one more than he has for Standard.
