Marc Overmars looking to beat Ajax to signing Bayern Munich’s Daley Blind

De Telegraaf are reporting that Daley Blind is considering a move to Antwerp alongside an offer from Ajax. The former Manchester United defender, who joined Bayern Munich in the winter from the Amsterdam based club, has been approached by Antwerp sporting director Marc Overmars, formerly of Ajax.

The 33-year-old has only made five appearances for the defending Bundesliga champions since his move. After departing Manchester United in 2018, Blind made 190 appearances for Ajax in four years, scoring 10 goals.

Antwerp are keen to add another experienced defender alongside Toby Alderweireld, and with William Pacho set to depart for Eintracht Frankfurt, the Great Old could do with defensive reinforcements.

Antwerp are pursuing a domestic double in Belgium, having already beaten Mechelen 2-0 in the cup final. After their 2-1 victory over Genk, they sit top of the title play-offs with four games remaining. They face back to back games with Club Brugge over the next two weekends.
