Feyenoord and FC Twente reach an agreement on Ramiz Zerrouki transfer

Feyenoord Rotterdam have reached an agreement with FC Twente to sign Ramiz Zerrouki, the club has confirmed. In a statement on the club website, Feyenoord revealed that they have ‘wanted to acquire Zerrouki for some time now’ and that the Algerian international would be available from the start of next season once everything has been finalised.

At 24 years old, Zerrouki has been a standout player in the Eredivisie this season. The midfielder has made 33 appearances across all competitions, playing a crucial part in FC Twente’s push for a Europa Conference League play-off place. Zerrouki’s career began in the Ajax youth academy, but in 2016 he made the move to FC Twente. He solidified his status as a regular first-team player during the 2019/20 season under current manager Ron Jans.

Feyenoord have previously attempted to sign the Algerian international on a number of occasions, most recently in January. FC Twente managed to keep hold of their star man until the end of the season. Both clubs have finally reached an agreement and Zerrouki now has his sights set on playing at De Kuip next season. The central midfielder will become Feyenord’s second signing heading into next season, after Thomas van den Belt. The 21-year-old is set to join in the summer from PEC Zwolle.
