According to HLN, Moroccan international Zakaria El Ouahdi has agreed personal terms with Hamburger SV. However, there still remains the question of whether or not the Bundesliga side can agree a deal with Genk. Hamburg have submitted three offers to Genk, none of which have been accepted by the Belgian side. El Ouahdi is keen on a move to Hamburger SV to further his career, and its likely that the clubs will eventually agree a fee given the players desire to leave.
It is no surprise that Hamburger SV are keen on the 24-year-old. El Ouahdi has been one of the best attacking full-backs in Belgian football over the past few seasons. After a decent if not spectacular first season with Genk, El Ouahdi took his chances once Daniel Munoz left to join Crystal Palace. During the 2024/2025 season, El Ouahdi played 40 games, scoring eight goals and providing two assists. Last season he took another step, scoring 12 goals in 45 games and providing five assists.
Should a move go through, El Ouahdi should become a key contributor to Hamburger SV in their second season back in the top flight of German football.
