RWDM supporters federation submits ‘wish list’ to John Textor ahead of planned boycott

RWDM supporters federation, RWDM Fidels, has announced that they will boycott the upcoming game against Genk. They have also submitted a wish list to the club’s President John Textor. The fan group lists the following grievances, amongst others:

  • The club’s current policy leads to a total loss of our identity.
  • Although this has already been clearly communicated by some RWDM supporter clubs, we still notice a complete lack of involvement from our players. We no longer accept this attitude, especially because they can always and unconditionally count on us. They will experience what it means to have no support.
  • We expect more presence from our sporting and organizational leadership among the supporters who make the heart of the club beat before, during and after the match. This will bring all parties closer together, be beneficial for the club in general and avoid misunderstandings or poor communication.
  • As supporters’ clubs, we want to be structurally involved in the operation of the club and not just on our own initiative.

However, they did not say that this was all Textor’s fault. As reported by Voetbalkrant, the fan group did say that they appreciated his efforts as an investor and owner of their club.

This all comes the day after head coach Cláudio Caçapa was sacked following a string of poor results. The final straw was a humiliating 4-0 capitulation at home against Antwerp. Igor de Camargo has been placed in temporary charge as they search for a new head coach.
