RWDM sack Cláudio Caçapa after defeat to Antwerp and put former Borussia Mönchengladbach striker in temporary charge

RWDM have announced that they have terminated the contract of Cláudio Caçapa with immediate effect. The news broke shortly after the side lost 4-0 at home to defending champions Antwerp. Former Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Igor de Camargo has been put in temporary charge while the side look for a new head coach.

Former Newcastle and Lyon defender Caçapa leaves the side sitting in 14th place with five wins in 25 games. Their terrible run of form has seen them drop into the relegation play-offs. In their last game they only picked up one point, a 2-2 draw with Standard Liege.

Antwerp had little trouble in tacking the home side apart on Sunday afternoon. By half-time they were already 3-0 up. It got worse for the Brussels side, with Philipe Sampaio picking up a second yellow card in the second-half. Antwerp had already made it 4-0 by then, with frustration clearly on show for the home side.
