Former Watford and Brighton manager yet to win a league game in charge of OH Leuven

OH Leuven parted ways with Marc Brys after three seasons back in October, bringing in former Watford and Brighton manager Oscar Garcia as head coach. However, there has been no new manager bounce for the side linked to Leicester City. Garcia has managed six league games for the side, picking up just one point from a possible 15. This came in a 1-1 draw against Sint-Truiden. The side have managed one cup win under the Spanish head coach, which came against FC Knokke from the third tier of Belgian football.

In fairness to Garcia, the side have faced a number of the top clubs in Belgium. Since taking over he has faced Genk, Club Brugge, Antwerp and Anderlecht. Their most recent defeat came at home to Cercle Brugge, another side battling for the top six this season. It doesn’t get much easier for OH Leuven, with Gent up in midweek. However, prior to the winter break they have a clash with fellow relegation strugglers Eupen. This will be a huge game considering that, given the lack of points, the side are beginning to see a gap open up to the sides above them in safety. Currently, Charleroi are four points ahead of OH Leuven in 12th.

The lack of improvement in terms of results will be concerning for fans of the club. So far this season, they have won just three league games which came before the appointment of Garcia. They also have the third worst defence in the league with 34 goals conceded in 18 games. They are certainly a side expected to be active in the January transfer window as they look to avoid relegation.
