KV Oostende to take legal action against Bologna over Arthur Theate transfer

KV Oostende have released a statement that says they are to take legal action against Serie A side Bologna over the transfer of Arthur Theate back in 2021. Oostende are claiming that Bologna failed to honour the transfer agreement and missed a payment to Oostende for the player. The coastal club are particularly agrieved that Bologna failed to make the payment even though they managed to make a profit with the sale of Theate to Ligue 1 side Rennes.

This all comes at a time when the side who were relegated from the Belgian Pro League last season are struggling financially. There are fears that they could go bankrupt if a buyer is not found within the next few months. The club are owned by the Pacific Media Group, who also own a number of other sides such as Barnsley and Nancy. Oostende are currently 12th in the Challenger Pro League, just two points above the relegation zone.
