FC Midtjylland hoping to keep on loan Swedish international Kristoffer Olsson

Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Danish side FC Midtjylland are hoping to keep on loan Swedish international Kristoffer Olsson. The 27-year-old central midfielder was loaned to the club from Anderlecht for the season and has gone on to make 27 appearances for the club, scoring three goals.

Olsson cost Anderlecht around €4m from FC Krasnodar in 2021, making 48 appearance for the Mauves. With Anderlecht missing out on European football and needing to sell in order to buy, Olsson is one player they would like to move on from. There is a purchase option on the loan deal, but the Danish side are not willing to meet it. Instead, there are to be discussions on a new deal, with the issue of contract also needing to be addressed as Midtjylland cannot afford to match what Anderlecht paid Olsson.

Another central midfielder who may leave Anderlecht this summer is Ghanaian international Majeed Ashimeru, with Bundesliga clubs said to be interested. Former Israeli international Lior Refaelov is also set to leave the club when his contract expires in the summer.
