Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Mönchengladbach showing interest in Ghanaian international Majeed Ashimeru

As reported by Voetbalkrant, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Mönchengladbach are interested in Anderlecht’s Ghanaian international midfielder Majeed Ashimeru. With the side looking to refresh the squad this summer, it is being reported that Ashimeru is one of the players they are willing to let go.

Ashimeru arrived as a replacement for Sambi Lokonga, who left to join Arsenal. The 25-year-old midfielder cost Anderlecht around €1.5m from RB Salzburg, having spent time on loan in Austria with Wolfsburger and St Gallen in Switzerland. This season he has made 42 appearances for the Mauves in all competitions, scoring three goals and providing three assists.

Anderlecht have already made it clear that, while they are looking to move some players on, they want to keep their prized assets in Zeno Debast and Bart Verbruggen. Both have been heavily linked with a number of Premier League clubs, making it difficult for Anderlecht to keep hold of them. With no European football on offer either, they will certainly have to hope that regular first team football is enough to entice both to remain in Brussels.
