Willem II are set to present their second winter signing in the run-up to their home match against Feyenoord. Dennis Kaygin (20) is a midfielder from Rapid Vienna, and looks to join Youssuf Sylla in Tilburg as the club’s second January acquisition.
The German-born Turkish U20 international is under contract with Rapid Wien, who are third in the Austrian Bundesliga, for another year and a half. The intention seems to loan Kaygin in for the rest of the season with an option to buy.
Kaygin has played nine league matches this season, with three arriving as a starter. In the UEFA Conference League, the former FSV Mainz 05 youth player found minutes from the bench against FC Noah, Petrocub, Shamrock Rovers and Omonia Nicosia. Before that, Kaygin also made two appearances in the play-offs for the Europa League.
Last week, it was leaked that Willem II once again reached out to defensive midfielder and left-back Harun Ibrahim (21). However, it is unknown whether the Tilburgers have dropped their interest in the Molde FK player. Willem II have refused to make any further statements regarding the potential signings.
