Ajax already have a Devyne Rensch replacement in their sights

According to reports from Voetbal International, Ajax have targeted Georgios Vagiannidis (23) as Devyne Renschโ€™s successor. Although Renschโ€™s to AS Roma is yet to be completed, the Amsterdam club are โ€œalready playing chess on several boardsโ€.

Ajax are still yet to table an agreement with Panathinaikos, yet the Greek international Vagiannidis arrives as a promising prospect. The 23-year-old graduated from the youth academy of Panathinaikos and was bought by Inter in the summer of 2020 before being immediately loaned to Sint-Truiden in the Belgian Pro League.

Since his 2022 return to Panathinaikos, the man with three Greek caps has amassed 86 appearances for the Greens. His current contract runs until 2028. Transfermarkt value the defender at โ‚ฌ6m.

If Vagiannidis canโ€™t be pried from the current third-placed Greek side, Youri Regeer is also an option at right-back. Ajax sold him to FC Twente in 2023 but have a buy-back clause of โ€œseveral million eurosโ€.
