Suriname add six new names to the international set up

Suriname have stepped on the gas to register six new faces for the national team. One of them is Jean-Paul Boëtius, eligible despite his single international appearance for Oranje.

The Suriname association announced that it was working on Boëtius. The 31-year-old Rotterdammer currently plays for SV Darmstadt in the 2. Bundesliga. He made his debut for the Dutch national team on the 5th of March 2014 in a friendly match against France under Louis van Gaal.

In addition to Boëtius, Suriname are also looking to add Yannick Leliendal (FC Volendam), Marcelencio Esajas (TOP Oss), Tayrell Wouter (Apollon Limassol), Nigel Lonwijk (Huddersfield Town) and Jay-Roy Grot (Odense BK) to their ranks. With the Natio qualifying for the Gold Cup, it’s fair to say an interesting period is dawning for these players.

A plethora of Dutch-born players are already in the South American team: Warner Hahn, Etienne Vaessen, Shaquille Pinas, Dion Malone, Kenneth Paal, Ridgeciano Haps, Djevencio van der Kust, Navajo Bakboord, Liam van Gelderen, Silvinho Esajas, Dhoraso Klas, Roscello Vlijter, Immanuel Pherai, Gyrano Kerk.
