Stef Peeters should be on multiple Belgian clubs shopping lists this summer

Eupen’s captain Stef Peeters current contract will run out in the summer of 2023. Whether he resigns with the Pandas will surely depend on what division the club will be playing in next season. So far, he has been their standout player during the clubs relegation battle. He leads the side in scoring with seven goals, as well as assists with seven. The former Cercle Brugge midfielder joined Eupen for around €700,000 back in 2020. During his almost three years with the club he has scored 13 goals and provided 21 assists. At the age of 31, he is playing his best football.

Even if Eupen remain in the league, with the form Peeters has shown there will no doubt be other suitors throughout the Belgian Pro League. One of his former sides, Sint-Truiden, could certainly do with his creativity in their midfield. Other teams in the middle of the league, such as Charleroi and Mechelen, could also be sides that look at Peeters as a creative player that could help them to have more successful seasons next year.

The midfielder began his career with Genk, before moving on to MVV Maastricht in the Dutch league after failing to breakthrough in Belgium. He returned to his native country with Sint-Truiden in 2016. Since then, he has played for Caen in France, Zulte Waregem and Cercle Brugge.
