RC Lens set to sign Burkina Faso’s number one from Charleroi for around €2m

Sudinfo Sports are reporting that Charleroi’s first choice goalkeeper Hervé Koffi is set to return to France this summer and sign for RC Lens. The Burkina Faso international, formerly of Lille, left French football to sign for Mouscron in 2020 on loan. Despite the side’s relegation from the Pro League, Koffi was a bright spark and convinced Charleroi to bring him in. It was a very good deal for the Zebras who spent just €500k to sign Koffi from Lille. Now, they look set to make a profit with the sale to Lens in the region of €2m.

The 27-year-old goalkeeper has played 92 games for the side, keeping 28 clean sheets. He has been a regular starter for the Burkina Faso national team, starting at the two previous AFCON tournaments and amassing a total of 58 caps.

This will be the first of what many believe to be a busy summer of outgoings at Charleroi as they look to revamp a squad that has disappointed this season. The side are currently trying to ensure they remain in the Pro League for next season.
