KV Oostende set to appeal against point deduction and transfer ban as situation continues to deteriorate

KV Oostende are certainly a club in crisis at the moment. The side owned by the Pacific Media Group are in desperate need for new ownership in order to ensure the survival of the football club. Today it was announced that, due to submit financial information to the licencing committee, the club have been deducted three points and given a transfer ban. Oostende have released a statement saying that they are going to appeal the ruling but did not give the basis for their appeal.

With the points deduction, Oostende now sit rock bottom of the Challenger Pro League having only been relegated from the Pro League last season. This week they also announced they were going to take legal action against Bologna for the transfer of Arthur Theate. Oostende claim that part of the transfer agreement was not honoured by the Serie A club.

The outlook for the future of the coastal club is incredibly bleak, and a sad state of affairs given that just a few seasons ago the side under the management of Alexander Blessin was pushing for European football.
