AZ Alkmaar anticipate departure of Milos Kerkez with arrival of David Møller Wolfe from SK Brann

AZ Alkmaar have announced the signing of 21-year-old Norwegian, David Møller Wolfe. The talented left-back joins AZ from the Norwegian Eliteserien side SK Brann. Møller Wolfe has signed a five-year contract at the AFAS Stadion. He could be AZ Alkmaar’s replacement for Milos Kerkez (photo), if the Hungarian departs this summer.

Last weekend Møller Wolfe claimed his first major prize in professional football, winning the Norwegian Cup. The youngster played the full 90 minutes in the match as SK Brann beat Lillestrom 2-0. Møller Wolfe has already made 63 senior appearances for Brann, and in March he was handed his debut for Norway’s U21s.

Møller Wolfe called the transfer a ‘Boyhood dream’. Having just lifted some silverware, the youngster has reached a new milestone in his career. ‘About two or three months ago, I first heard about AZ’s interest and since then I’ve seen a lot of games from the club. I play with a lot of energy and passion and look forward as much as possible. AZ play with a lot of the same ideas and intentions and that’s why I think I fit in well.’

Currently, 19-year-old Milos Kerkez occupies the starting left-back position at AZ Alkmaar. The Hungarian is without a doubt one of Europe’s hottest prospects at the moment, with big clubs expressing interest in the teenager. On Sunday, after AZ’s 3-0 win over NEC, Kerkez confirmed that there is a lot of interest in him and that AZ have already spoken with various clubs about a possible transfer. Kerkez joined AZ from AC Milan’s academy in 2022. It’s already looking likely that he could leave in the summer.
