Antwerp to beat Club Brugge to signing of Jacob Ondrejka

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Antwerp are set to beat Club Brugge and a number of other clubs to the signing of Swedish forward Jacob Ondrejka. The Elfsborg striker is set to cost the club around €1.7m and will likely fill the gap left by Michael Frey. With Vincent Janssen currently out injured, the club have seen that without him they are struggling to score goals. The 20-year-old has played 95 games for the Swedish side, scoring 14 goals and providing seven assists. He has also been capped by the Swedish national team.

Ondrejka can play on either wing and will compete with William Balikwisha and Arbnor Muja for a starting spot next season. The side also have Gyrano Kerk, who has been forced to play as the lone striker without Janssen in recent weeks. Kerk’s deal expires in the summer and it has not yet been revealed if the club will keep hold of the 27-year-old Dutch forward.
