Anderlecht have announced the signing of Kasper Dolberg from OGC Nice. Voetbal International say that the Belgian Pro League side will pay €4.5m for the Danish striker. Four years ago Nice paid Ajax more than €20m for the 25-year-old striker. After a strong first season, the striker struggled in France, scoring a total of 24 goals in 85 appearances.
Dolberg spent last season on loan at two separate clubs. He spent the first half of the season with Sevilla, where he failed to score in eight games. The 40-time Denmark international then joined Hoffenheim for the second half of the season, scoring two goals in 14 games.
During his time at Ajax, Dolberg scored 45 goals in 119 appearances. Anderlecht will be hoping that the move to Belgium will help revive the strikers career, showing the form he had at Ajax. Speaking to the club channels Dolberg said ‘I am very happy with this new challenge. It was not a difficult choice to go to such a big club as Anderlecht. I have known Anderlecht for a long time and I immediately felt that I could fit well with the project and the style of play. Anyway, I wanted to go to a club where I felt comfortable and where I felt there was something to gain. That’s why I’m here.’
