Ajax complete €8m signing of goalkeeper Diant Ramaj from Eintracht Frankfurt

Ajax have announced the signing of goalkeeper Diant Ramaj from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 21-year-old has signed a contract valid until June 2028. Ajax have reportedly paid €8m for their new shot stopper. The price could increase to €10m after bonuses.

Ramaj will become Ajax’s backup goalkeeper. He’ll have to compete with Gerónimo Rulli, Remko Pasveer and Jay Gorter in order to make first-team appearances this season. Ramaj’s arrival could see Jay Gorter leave the club this summer. The 23-year-old spent part of last season on loan at Aberdeen as he searches for first-team opportunities. Ajax also expressed their interest in Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper Nick Olij, but the arrival of Ramaj might just put those rumours to bed.

Diant Ramaj has only featured twice for Eintracht Frankfurt’s first team. In three appearances for their U21’s, he kept two clean sheets. Previously the youngster has played for Stuttgarter Kickers U17s and 1. FC Heidenheim. Ramaj was highly rated at Frankfurt and his contract with the Bundesliga side was valid until 2027, hence the high price tag that Ajax have had to pay.
