Zulte Waregem hoping to take advantage of contract stalemate between Sint-Truiden and Christian Brüls

According to Voetbalkrant, Zulte Waregem are hoping to bring Christian Brüls to the club in January. The attacking midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season and negotiations between Sint-Truiden and the 34 year-old midfielder have stalled. Brüls would like a two year extension, while the club are only willing to offer him one.

Relegation threatened Zulte Waregem appear willing to offer Brüls a two and a half year contract, starting in January. It appears that they are willing to pay to bring the player in now, rather than waiting till the end of the season. Brüls joined Sint-Truiden back in 2021, and was a catalyst for the Canaries remaining in the Pro League. Mbaye Leye will be hoping that the midfielder can have a similar impact for his side.

Brüls has scored once and provided three assists in his 18 appearances this season. The former Nice and Gent player has scored 10 goals and provided 11 assists during his time at the club, in which he has amassed 68 appearances.
