Zulte Waregem decide against offering Nill De Pauw a contract following trial

As reported by Stefan Smet of HNB, Zulte Waregem have opted against giving their former winger, Nill De Pauw, a contract. De Pauw has been without a club since being released by Antwerp in the summer. The winger was training with Zulte Waregem in the hopes of gaining a contract till the end of the season, but the club have decided against it given that his current fitness levels means he wouldn’t be able to make an immediate impact.

Under their former attacker Mbaye Leye, Zulte Waregem are third from bottom in the Belgian Pro League, with just 13 points from 17 games. The club are three points from safety, with Eupen sitting above them with 16 points. Leye’s first game back from the World Cup break will be a cup match against second tier side Deinze, before a league match on the 27th against Sint-Truiden. The Canaries recently announced that current head coach Bernd Hollerbach will be leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season.
