Zulte Waregem have announced that the club have reached an agreement with Christian Brüls to terminate his contract. The 36-year-old has not made a single appearance this season in the Belgian second tier. He was part of the Zulte Waregem side that were relegated from the Pro League two seasons ago. He will likely have a few suitors within the second tier that could do with an experienced midfielder who has an eye for creating chances.
Brüls joined the side from Sint Truiden in January of the 2022/2023 season, going on to make 47 appearances with two goals and four assists. He left the Canaries having played 68 games with 10 goals and assists in that time. Brüls best season came during his time with Dutch side Maastricht, where he scored four goals and grabbed 10 assists in the 2009/2010 season. The attacking midfielder is unlikely to feature in the Pro League again, meaning he is likely to end his career with 177 top flight caps, 17 goals and 36 assists.
