Xavi Simons continues impressive start to the season

Xavi Simons has continued his impressive start to the season at German club RB Leipzig, the player who is on-loan from Paris Saint-Germain scored again in Leipzig’s 2-1 win over Crvena Zvezda in the Champion’s League on Tuesday evening. The Oranje youngster opened the scoring for the German side after just eight minutes with a superb effort from just outside the penalty box, the goal was similar to another one which he scored in the previous round of Champions League games.

Simons has now scored twice in his opening four games for Leipzig in the Champions League, he has also assisted on one occasion in the competition. Leipzig sit second in their group on nine points behind Champions League winners Manchester City who are unbeaten in the competition on twelve points. It is mathematically certain that both teams will qualify for the next round of the competition, but it is yet to be decided in which order they will finish, this is to be determined in their next game in the competition in three weeks time.

In the Bundesliga Xavi Simons has also impressed, he has managed to score on three occasions and assist six times. The youngster has started his career at Leipzig well, in his second game in the league he scored once and assisted twice, he managed to continue this fine form as in the following two games he provided another goal and assist in both games for his team.
