โ€œThereโ€™s still a lot to figure out everywhereโ€ says Go Ahead Eagles boss in preseason

Unlike many other Eredivisie clubs, things are still relatively quiet on the transfer front at Go Ahead Eagles. Voetbal Internationalโ€™s Sander Janssen writes that the left-wing should be an area of focus.

On Friday, during the 5-2 friendly defeat to KV Mechelen over 120 minutes, Victor Edvardsen started there. For new head coach Melvin Boel, Mathis Suray, Oskar Sivertsen, and newcomer Richonell Margaret are the other options in that position.

โ€œVictor can play well between the lines, as he showed when Jakob Breum was injured. Weโ€™re trying out a few things,โ€ said Boel. โ€œJakob can also play on the left wing, for example, and that can change during a match. Itโ€™s not like Iโ€™ve figured out all the other positions yet, mind you. Thereโ€™s still a lot to figure out everywhere. I hope everyone is knocking on the door, and I also think weโ€™ll strengthen ourselves in certain positions.โ€

For Go Ahead Eagles, the real work begins in three weeksโ€™ time, when they face champions PSV for the Johan Cruiyff Shield.
