Wolke Janssens changes mind over potential return to Sint-Truiden

HBVL are reporting that Wolke Janssens is interested in returning to the club for the 2023/2024 season. The 28-year-old Belgian left the club when his contract expired at the end of the 2022/2023 season, with options in Poland and elsewhere something he was looking to explore. However, it appears that he is now open to returning to the side, who could do with the versatility that Janssens brings.

Originally, Janssens joined Sint-Truiden from Dessel Sport as a striker in the summer of 2016. He scored 11 goals in 63 games for Dessel, but while at Sint-Truiden he began to operate as both a winger and defender. Recently, he was used as a central defender in a back three as part of one of the best defensive sides in the Belgian Pro League. Since 2016, Janssens scored three goals in 107 games for the Canaries.

His former teammate, Daniel Schmidt, is reportedly moving to Club Brugge after rejecting an offer from Turkish side Ankaragücü.
