Dolf van Aert is reporting that Willem II have an agreement with Eupen for the signing of Boris Lambert. The versatile midfielder, who can also play as a central defender, is set to leave the Belgian side and sign a contract with the Eredivisie side. Lambert was unlikely to remain with Eupen after their relegation from the Pro League last season and Willem II seems a reasonable move given that they have signed a number of Belgian based players this summer.
24-year-old Lambert has been an Eupen player since 2018, coming through the youth system before making his first team debut during the 2021/2022 season. He went on to make 90 appearances for the Pandas, scoring six goals and grabbing two assists. Depending on the head coach, he was used as either a central defender or as a defensive midfielder.
Willem II have had a solid start to their Eredivisie campaign. The newly promoted side are yet to lose, drawing with Feyenoord and Heracles either side of a 2-0 win over Go Ahead Eagles.
