Dutch media reveal what will happen to Vitesseโ€™s contracted players

Jeroen Kapteijns of De Telegraaf knows what will happen to Vitesseโ€™s contracted players. According to the journalist, an agreement has been reached between the playersโ€™ union VVCS and the Arnhem club.

Although some exact details of the clubโ€™s future remain unclear, Vitesse permanently lost their professional license last week, meaning the club will compete in amateur football next season.

According to reports, 12 Vitesse players have made it clear that they wanted their contracts terminated after their professional licenses were revoked. Vitesse agreed to that demand after a potential arbitration case was threatened.

Thereโ€™s also some unrest surrounding the Arnhem clubโ€™s youth players. Vitesse has indicated that the youth academy will resume โ€œas usualโ€ next season. Many parents find this incomprehensible and want to leave Vitesse, according to information from the Algemeen Dagblad.

Parents are said to be unsure about the sporting and educational path at Vitesse, now that theyโ€™re no longer a professional football club. Some parents have sent a letter to the KNVB stating that they want their child to be registered with another professional football club.
