Westerlo agree deal to sign Basaksehir’s Nacer Chadli

Westerlo have agreed a deal to sign Nacer Chadli from Basaksehir.

With Belgium one of the few European countries where the transfer window is still open, Westerlo are still looking to reinforce their squad before the Tuesday deadline.

They look set to do so, with Het Laatste Nieuws reporting that a deal has been reached for Chadli to join the Pro League club on a two-year deal.

He will reportedly travel to Belgium on Tuesday to carry out his medical examinations, and if there are no issues there, will put pen to paper before the deadline.

Chadli hasn’t played for the Belgian national team since the Euros last summer with the winger not enjoying too much success in Turkey, and it’s believed that his desire to get back into Robert Martinez’s consideration is a big reason as to why he’s joining Westerlo.

He’s one of many experienced Belgian players who has returned to their home country this summer with that in mind.
