West Ham hoping to beat Juventus to signing of Barcelona’s Memphis Depay

West Ham are interested in signing Barcelona’s Memphis Depay and, despite the fact that he is in advanced talks with Juventus, believe they have a chance of doing so.

Memphis has looked likely to leave the Spanish club all summer as they look for ways to ease their financial difficulties, and Juventus have been the most likely destination.

The Italian club have already offered him a two-year contract which it was thought he’d accept once he reached an agreement with Barcelona on the termination of his contract.

However, a new suitor has now emerged with The Guardian reporting that West Ham want to sign the Dutchman and have already approached him.

Various reports have stated the striker would only be interested in joining Champions League clubs, but the British publication claim that the Premier League side feel they have a good chance of convincing him to sign for them once they have informed him of their ambitious plans.
