Wesley Sneijder agrees that former team-mate Jasper Cillessen has attitude issues

Wesley Sneijder agrees with Rafael van der Vaart’s comments stating their former team-mate Jasper Cillessen has attitude problems.

Van der Vaart said on Studio Voetbal that the goalkeeper, who they both played alongside for the Netherlands, can be a “nasty guy.”

“I have experienced Jasper Cillessen with the Dutch national team myself, and to tell you the truth, he is a bit of a nasty guy,” he said.

“I have experienced things with him, but you can also see it in his interviews. He’s a great goalkeeper, but he has a nasty side.”

Sneijder didn’t go quite as far as that when asked for his opinion on the 33-year-old, but does agree that he doesn’t have the best attitude, rarely interacting with team-mates.

“Jasper never said much, he was very absent,” he said on Veronica Offside.

“Jasper is a boy who is on his own and doesn’t talk much. Maybe Rafael went through something direct with him, I don’t know.”
