We don’t talk about Bruno: Sint-Truiden striker’s 10th league goal of the season makes it winless in six for Club Brugge

Gianni Bruno grabbed his 12th goal of the season, and his third against Club Brugge last night as the defending champions made it six games without a win. The 31 year-old on loan from Gent is now Sint-Truiden’s top scorer and looks set to be back to the form which saw him score 20 goals in the 2020/2021 season for Zulte Waregem.

Club took the lead thanks to a Wolke Janssens own goal in the 26th minute. However, a mistake from Simon Mignolet in the 77th saw the ball fall to Bruno in the box, who was not going to miss with the form he is in.

The gap to leaders Genk has now extended to 19 points, and while come the play-offs points will be halved, the growing gap means the chances of Club grabbing their 4th title in a row are disappearing fast. Of greater concern for Scott Parker’s side is the gap to 5th place Gent, which remains at one point following the Buffaloes 0-0 draw with Charleroi.

The defending champions have been linked with a move for Timothy Weah of Lille, despite Parker’s insistence that he is happy to work with the current squad. The longer the winless run continues however, that decision is likely to be taken out of the Englishman’s hands.
