FC Utrecht have signed Vitesse’s second-division crowd-puller Miliano Jonathans. With terms agreed on a three-and-a-half-year contract, the 20-year-old attacker will arrive at Stadion Galgenwaard in January.
The right-winger spoke fondly of his new adventure. “FC Utrecht is the ideal next step for me. (…) I am super happy that I can play for this wonderful club.”
As the Eredivisie website claim, Jonathans is the sensation of the Keuken Kampioen Divisie this season with 10 goals and four assists in 17 games.
Scouts from both the Netherlands and abroad have found their way to Stadion GelreDome in recent months. However, it is believed that FC Utrecht have had the attacker on their radar for much longer.
Jonathans, who made the switch from Arnhemse Boys to Vitesse at the age of ten, has been considered an up-and-coming talent for years.
