VfB Stuttgart loanee and former Stoke City striker scores super hat-trick as Heracles thrash Almere City 5-0

Sunday’s action in the Eredivisie saw Heracles Almelo thrash Almere City 5-0 away from home. Mohamed Sankoh was the standout star in a dominant display from Heracles. The Stuttgart loanee scored an impressive hat-trick to seal his side’s first victory in eight matches. The three goals took the 20-year-old striker’s tally up to four goals so far this season.

Mohamed Sankoh opened the scoring just four minutes into the match. The Netherlands youth international tapped the ball in from close range following a clever corner kick routine. Less than twenty minutes into the second half, Sankoh netted once again, firing the ball into the bottom right corner from the edge of the area.

Werder Bremen loanee Abdengo Nankishi scored a brilliant brace before Mohamed Sankoh completed his hat-trick. With less than four minutes remaining, the Sierra Leone-born striker scored again from inside the area. A fantastic victory for Heracles and a dismal day for Eredivisie newcomers Almere City. Heracles move up to tenth place in the table, whilst Almere sit in 13th place, just a point off the drop zone.

Speaking to ESPN after the game, Sankoh revealed what he’d like to do with the match ball after his hat-trick. The former Stoke City youth player shared that he would like to ‘send it to Africa, where children can play with it.’
