AZ Alkmaar striker Vangelis Pavlidis continued his incredible goal scoring streak on Sunday afternoon by scoring in his side’s 4-0 victory over Fortuna Sittard. The Greece international has scored in every Eredivisie game so far this season (seven matches) and he’s taken his tally up to nine goals this campaign. He’s the first AZ player to ever score in each of their first seven games of a league season.
The hosts kicked off their game against Fortuna with 16 points from their opening six league games. After a fairly slow first half, AZ opened the scoring through the former Southampton midfielder Jordy Clasie. Four minutes into the second half, it was Vangelis Pavlidis’ time to shine. The 24-year-old striker did a fantastic job of rounding the Fortuna goalkeeper before converting from close range.
