Utrecht, Vitesse and Groningen have all enquired about the possibility of signing Ruud Vormer from Club Brugge.
Vormer’s eight-year stay with Club Brugge looks set to come to an end this summer with the Belgian club keen to move him on due to his high salary, willing to let him leave on a free transfer.
He hasn’t come particularly close to signing for another club as of yet though, presumably as he’s reportedly reluctant to take a pay cut.
Could he be tempted by a return to his home country though? It looks like he’ll have that option with Het Nieuwsblad reporting that Utrecht, Vitesse and Groningen have all made contact with his entourage.
According to the Belgian publication, it’s possible that he could lower his salary demands or that Club Brugge would agree to pay a portion of his wages at his new club.
They also state that Vormer could choose to stay and run down the final year of his contract.
