Union St Gilloise see another depart as Senne Lynen undergoes Werder Bremen medical

Florian Plettenberg is reporting that Senne Lynen is currently undergoing a medical with Bundesliga side Werder Bremen. The 24-year-old appears to be the latest player to depart Union St Gilloise this summer, joining the likes of Teddy Teuma, Victor Boniface and Siebe Van der Heyden. He will now be playing against his former teammate Boniface, who joined Bayer Leverkusen.

Lynen missed the majority of the sides first season back in the Belgian top flight due to injury, but came back to play a key role in their title challenge during the 2022/2023 campaign. The central midfielder played for a number of Belgian academies during his time in youth football, such as Antwerp and Club Brugge. He joined Telstar in the Netherlands after leaving the Club Brugge set up, where he spent two seasons between 2018 and 2020.

In the summer of 2020 Lynen signed for Union on a free transfer. Since joining the Brussels side, he has made 87 appearances, scoring four goals and providing 11 assists.
