Union St Gilloise reject Club Brugge’s opening offer for striker

Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Union St Gilloise have rejected an offer from Club Brugge for striker Gustaf Nilsson. According to the report, the Belgian champions offered €4,5m, clearly an insufficient amount to tempt a potential title rival into selling. However, there are reports that Nilsson is keen on the move to Brugge.

The 27-year-old striker joined the Brussels side back in 2022 from Wehen Wiesbaden. He is under contract until 2025 and the side have an option to add an extra year to this. According to Transfermarkt the Swedish forward is valued at €6m. Last season the striker scored 16 goals in 35 games across all competitions. In total he has played 93 games for the club and scored 27 goals. His form this season saw him earn a call up to the Swedish national team.

Union are currently searching for a third head coach in three seasons after losing Alexander Blessin to St Pauli.
