Union St Gilloise beat Burnley to signing of Anderlecht youngster

Union St Gilloise have announced the signing of Noah Sadiki from Anderlecht. The 18-year-old full-back was also said to be of interest to Burnley, whose manager Vincent Kompany gave Sadiki his debut for Anderlecht during his time at the club. Sadiki spent most of the 2022/2023 season with the Anderlecht second team in the Challenger Pro League. Overall, he made 19 appearances for the Mauves and has now swapped the purple side of Brussels for the yellow and blue. Sadiki has signed a four-year-deal with Union and becomes their eight signing of a very busy summer.

The side have also lost a number of players this season, with Siebe Van der Heyden moving to Spanish side Mallorca. Captain Teddy Teuma has moved to France to join Reims, while fellow Moroccan defender Ismaël Kandouss has remained in Belgium but moved to Gent. Star striker Victor Boniface recently left Belgium to join Bayer Leverkusen.
