Union St Gilloise and Heerenveen interested in Moroccan youth international Zakaria El Ouahdi

HLN are reporting that Union St Gilloise are interested in signing Moroccan U23 international Zakaria El Ouahdi. The RWDM winger was part of the Moroccan youth side that won the recent U23 Africa Cup of Nations. Union are not the only side interested in the 21-year-old, with Heerenveen also monitoring the winger.

The Moroccan joined RWDM on a free transfer from Rupel Boom in the summer of 2021 and was part of their recent promotion winning side. His current contract expires in 2025, with Transfermarkt valuing the youngster at ā‚¬800k. In 51 games for RWDM El Ouahdi scored eight goals and provided six assists. Four of each of those came during the promotion play-offs at the end of the 2022/2023 season.

Union recently lost another Moroccan to Gent in central defender IsmaĆ«l Kandouss, who joined the Buffaloes for a reported ā‚¬3m. They have also seen club captain Teddy Teuma leave to join Reims in Ligue 1.
