Union Berlin’s Sheraldo Becker feels he has chance of being called up by the Netherlands

Union Berlin’s Sheraldo Becker, the Bundesliga’s current top scorer, thinks he has a chance of being called up by the Netherlands.

Becker has made a stunning start to the new season, scoring five goals and getting two assists in the first five games of the Bundesliga campaign.

He has never been selected by the national team before, but that may change if he maintains his current form, and he thinks that it could.

“Do I think very carefully of Oranje? Louis van Gaal can always call me, I’m not pushing him away,” the 27-year-old told ESPN.

“Personally, I don’t think it’s crazy. I know what I can do. I know that with my speed, strength and one-on-one, I am important to the team. And I have a good shot, I learned that at Ajax.”

“I knew it was in there. It just had to come out.”

There is a lot of competition for the forward spots in the Netherland squad with Memphis Depay, Steven Bergwijn and Brian Brobbey all but certain to be in it and Vincent Janssen impressing in Belgium.
