Ukrainian international Eduard Sobol linked with a move to Strasbourg

Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that Club Brugge’s Ukrainian international Eduard Sobol is of interest to French side Strasbourg. Since the signing of Bjorn Meijer in the summer, Sobol has seen his playing time reduced. The full-back has only played nine league games this season, scoring once.

The former Shakhtar Donetsk player initially joined Club Brugge on loan in the summer of 2019, with the Belgian side making the move permanent after the player impressed. Sobol has made 124 appearances for Club Brugge, scoring four goals overall.

For Ukraine, Sobol made his debut in January of 2016 and has gone on to make 27 appearances for the country.

Club Brugge have seen departures already this winter transfer window, with Arne Engels joining Augsburg, former captain Ruud Vormer going to Zulte Waregem, and Noah Mbamba is joining Bayer Leverkusen.

The defending champions are currently fourth in the table, with no wins in their last six matches following a 1-1 draw with Sint-Truiden.
