U-turn for Union? Madagascan international set to make his return to the Union St Gilloise first team

One of Union St Gilloise‘s key players in recent seasons has been Madagascan international winger Loïc Lapoussin. The 28-year-old was a regular starter whose ability in terms of attacking and defending made him a vital cog in the sides success in recent seasons. However, after falling out with management over the summer, he was sent to the U23s and has been there ever since.

However, his recent performances for the U23 side has seen a U-turn from both player and management. As reported by LDH, the two sides have met and appear to have patched things up. As a result, Lapoussin has returned to training with the first team on Tuesday and could even make an appearance for the side in their cup clash with Eupen. Given the sides struggles and injury’s to wide men, this return is timely.

Lapoussin is a quality player at this level and his return should help improve the sides performances on the pitch. If he remains motivated, he could bring a spark to the side that has been missing so far this season.
