Two teams, back-to-back relegations: RWDM part ways with former Barnsley CEO after relegation

Following their relegation to the second tier of Belgian football, RWDM have now started preparing for life outside of the Belgian Pro League. Part of that has been to end their collaboration with Gauthier Ganaye as the cubs CEO. Ganaye only joined the side in the summer as part of John Textor and Eagle Footballs plans to build a stable Pro League side that would eventually qualify for a European competition.

However, Ganaye has now suffered back to back relegations in this role in Belgium. He was with Oostende during the 2022/2023 season when they were relegated. Ganaye was part of the wider Pacific Media Group’s footballing family, having spent time in their other clubs such as Nancy and Barnsley.

The side have also parted way with two members of the recruitment team in Tom Chambers and Oliver O’Connell. It is not clear yet who will be the sides head coach for the 2024/2025 season.
